Building for the Future
How exciting were the sounds of preparation in the electric atmosphere near the starting gate? The senses of the young racers and the coaches and the officials were at a high state of readiness.
There was stamping and running surfaces back and forth to ensure a clean running surface. Quiet last minute advice and encouragement; then the countdown and with shouts from friends, the racer disappears.
Rehabilitation & Renewal
There are a growing number of adaptive and rehabilitative winter sports centers, particularly located at ski resorts. Adapting equipment and lessons offer an accessible support system to those with a wide range of physical and cognitive disabilities, to be able to enjoy the freedom and majesty of the great outdoors.
Perhaps skiing with you are adaptive skiers, maybe one a returning warrior, all benefiting from the revitalization derived from the on snow experience.
Sustaining Snowsports
Remember that brilliant cold day with friends or family, when the snow was perfect, with some powder remaining, and the contrast of the snow with the sky was stunning? We want future generations to be able to experience the joy of the mountains and all it has to offer.
To ensure that happens, we support the initiatives of the ski industry for sustaining snowsports, particularly those regarding climate control, youth and family development, and diversity.
Preserving the Legacy
Museums, Libraries and Collections are a treasure trove of books, research materials and memorabilia recording the rich history of snowsports. Many now have interactive exhibits that further enhance our ability to think and wonder, through new experiences.
In order that future generations can learn about the sport we love, we make a commitment and dedication to preserving our heritage.
